Surprising Bangladesh
To the east of India lies the lush green river country, Bangladesh. More than 700 rivers running across the country, give it rich fertile plains and different hues of green. It is famous for its massive mangrove forest Sundarbans, which is also home to the famous Royal Bengal Tiger. With the Tropic of Cancer running through, Bangladesh has a tropical climate with a mild winter from October to March, but a hot and humid summer from March to June. The country experiences a warm and humid monsoon season from June to October, with a yearly occurrence of natural calamities, such as floods, tropical cyclones, tornadoes, and tidal bores. Lose the world in the swampy creeks of Ratargul. The silent water channels run under canopies of an evergreen tropical forest, waiting to be explored. These outlying marshes are Bangladesh’s largest freshwater swampland, perfect for a slow lazy day. You can also visit some magnificent tea estates or the Hum Hum waterfalls. You can go to the forests of Lowacherra National Park if you are in the mood to spot gibbons. Then, there is the world’s longest natural beach, Cox’s Bazar. The currency is Bangladeshi taka (BDT or ৳) which equals INR 0.80-0.84 (fluctuates).
