Costa Rica, a small country in Central America, is all about everything natural, untouched nature and enriching experiences. Costa Rica has 14 volcanoes out of which 6 have been active for 75 years. The highest volcano in the country is the Irazú Volcano (3,431 m or 11,257 ft) and the largest lake is Lake Arenal. Costa Rica will surprise you pleasantly with its diverse culture, climates, flora, fauna, and landscapes. You will be spellbound with rain forests, volcanoes, Caribbean and Pacific beaches, high mountains, and marshy lowlands. The country is located a little above Equator, giving it a tropical climate, year round.
The capital of Costa Rica, San Jose, is on a plateau in the Central Valley surrounded by lush green mountains and valleys. The wildlife will leave you amused. There are keel-billed toucans, scarlet macaws, white-faced capuchins, blue morpho butterflies and many more to a person’s bewilderment. The best time to visit is from mid-December to April, during the dry season, when there is ample sunshine to explore rainforests or lounge on beaches. The currency is the Costa Rican Colón (CRC or ₡) which equals INR 0.10-0.15(fluctuates).
