Wow Cuba
Cuba is an archipelago of islands in the northern Caribbean Sea, where the Caribbean Sea, Gulf of Mexico and Atlantic Ocean meet. The entire island lies to the south of the Tropic of Cancer, giving it a tropical climate. The major tourist attraction are the gorgeous arcs of white sand scattered over the country’s north coast and offshore islands. The perfect colour combination of white sands, turquoise waters and green palm trees are all present in the Sea of the Antilles.
The prolific forests, abandoned coffee plantations and rugged mountains picturesque as they may be, are also witness to the history of the great Cuban Revolution. The Cuban capital Havana located on La Habana (Havana) Bay on the island’s north coast, is the largest city in the Caribbean region. The city’s Old Havana (La Habana Vieja) district and the fortifications are a UNESCO World Heritage site. A must see is the Cathedral of Havana, the church of Havana’s patron saint, San Cristóbal (St. Christopher). Visit the Plaza de la Revolución, west of Old Havana, which was the site of Fidel Castro’s major speeches as president.
The best time to visit is from December to May, when the days are sunny with clear blue skies. The currency is the Cuban Peso (CUP or $MN) which equals INR 70-75(fluctuates).
