Jamaica

Jamaica is an island country in the Caribbean Sea and a great green garden of a land. It powerfully stands out as a place of great beauty among the many other jewels of the Caribbean. You will be enthralled by the crystalline waters flowing over gardens of coral, lapping onto soft sandy beaches, red soil and lush banana groves effortlessly merging into sheer mountains, and gushing waterfalls that erupt out of nowhere. The island offers many all-inclusive resorts clustered in Montego Bay, and Negril, known for its diving and snorkeling sites. The capital and the largest city of Jamaica is Kingston which is located on the southeastern coast of the island. A popular must see in this city is the Royal Botanical Gardens at Hope. Full of exotic species and endemic trees of Jamaica, it has a number of other features like, the Coconut Museum, the Sunken Gardens, the Orchid House, the Lily Pond, the Maze and Palm Avenue. Jamaica’s greatest gift to the world is Bob Marley. The legendary Jamaican singer and songwriter was considered one of the pioneers of reggae. Music is the heart and soul of the people of this beauteous place. The best time to visit is November to mid-December, when the island’s already beautiful weather is the most pleasant. The currency is the Jamaican Dollar (JMD or J$) which equals INR 0.50-0.55(fluctuates).
