Crazy Nepal

Nepal is a landlocked country in South Asia, lying along the southern slopes of the Himalayan mountain ranges. The country has a sub-tropical climate with hot summers, very wet monsoon and pleasant winters. It experiences five seasons – summer, monsoon, autumn, winter and spring. Kathmandu is the capital and the largest city of Nepal, set in a valley surrounded by the Himalayan mountains. In the north eastern province of Nepal , lies the Everest region in Nepal with vast glaciers, icefalls, the highest mountains, deep valleys, precarious settlements and much more. Some say, simply standing at the base of Mt. Everest is a life changing experience, close to attaining Nirvana! The Sagarmatha National Park in which Mt. Everest lies is one of the few places on earth with the rarest bio-diversity and the highest mountains in the world. It is also a habitat for some rare and endangered species like the snow leopard, red panda, Himalayan black bear, musk deer and Himalayan wolves.

Another place worth visiting is Lumbinī, a Buddhist pilgrimage site in the Rupandehi District of Province No. 5 in Nepal. It is Lord Buddha’s birthplace and one of the world’s most important spiritual sites that attracts Buddhist pilgrims from around the world. The best time to visit Nepal is between October and December in the winter. The skies are generally clear in these months and the views spectacular. The weather remains dry until about April. The currency is the Nepalese rupee (NPR or रू) which equals INR 0.60-0.63(fluctuates).
