Superior Peru
Peru is in South America, situated on the western side of the continent, facing the South Pacific Ocean. Part of the second highest mountain range in the world, the Andes runs the length of South America. Lima, the capital and the largest city of Peru, is located along the coast of the Pacific Ocean. The world’s largest rainforest, the Amazon, covers nearly half of Peru. Due to its many different ecosystems, it is home to a wider variety of plants and animals than most other countries on Earth. The country is home to the iconic UNESCO World Heritage site Machu Picchu, one of the most well-known symbols of the Incan Empire, and one of the most famous and spectacular sets of ruins in the world. Another must visit is Máncora, a small beach town which turns into a party town on weekends and holidays. There is a high, arid plateau which stretches between the towns of Nazca and Palpa, south of Lima in the Nazca Desert. This area is famous for spectacular and very large geoglyphs. These are on such a large scale that they are visible from the sky and are a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Peru has a very diverse climate, with a large variety of climates and microclimates. The best time to visit is between May and October in the dry season. During this time, the days are sunny, the skies are clear, and the nights are cool. The currency is the Peruvian Sol (PEN or S/) which equals INR 20-23(fluctuates).
