Unbelievable South Korea
South Korea is one of the most densely populated countries in the world, but also one with the world’s lowest birth rate. It is a global leader in many technology and innovation driven fields. Though it is referred to as the Land of the Morning Calm, the capital Seoul is anything but calm! The city is the powerhouse of Asia’s third-largest economy with swarming night markets and people with a work-hard, play-hard mentality. Steeped in 5000 years of culture and history with an ultra fast paced modern life, the country is a treat for the eyes, mind and soul. South Koreans are quite friendly and helpful. Popular tourist attractions include Seoul, Gyeongju and Buyeo. For nature lovers there are the peaks of the Baekdudaegan, particularly Seorak-san and Jiri-san, the caves of Danyang and Hwanseongul. Of course, sun and sand can be experienced on the beaches of Haeundae and Mallipo. The country tends to have a humid continental climate and a humid subtropical climate. Winters can be extremely cold with the minimum temperature dropping below −20 °C. The best times to visit are the spring months of April, May and June, or the autumn months of September, October and November. The currency is Korean Republic Won (KRW or ₩) which equals INR 0.058-0.062 (fluctuates).
